Nyx - a Night Sprite

Nyx is the night — a Fey spun from shadow and starlight.

In summer, she lingers beyond the horizon, waiting for the sun to finish its golden chatter. Slowly she makes her entrance, pulling behind her a sky ablaze with stars so vivid and near you could almost reach out and pluck one to slip into your pocket.

In winter, she arrives early, enveloping the world in darkness long before you are ready to close your eyes. She bedazzles the snow with moonbeams and starlight, creating a luminous display upon the whiteness below.

When dawn peeks over the horizon, Nyx pretends not to notice. She lingers, mischievous to the end. Finally she relents, trailing back over the hill — leaving a few stars to dawdle behind.
