Nyx - a Night Sprite

Nyx is the night — a Fey spun from shadow and starlight.

In summer, she lingers beyond the horizon, waiting for the sun to finish its golden chatter. Slowly she makes her entrance pulling behind her a sky ablaze with stars so vivid and near that you could almost reach out and pluck one to slip into your pocket.

In winter, she arrives early, enveloping the world in darkness long before you are ready to close your eyes. She bedazzles the snow with moonbeams and starlight creating a luminous display upon the whiteness of the snow.

When dawn peeks over the horizon, Nyx pretends not to see when the dawn peaks over the horizon. She lingers, mischievous to the end. Finally, she relents and trails back over the hill leaving a few stars to dawdle behind.
