I use turning tubes to turn most of my pieces. These consist of a tube that fits inside the piece to be turned and a rod or stick to push the fabric into the tube. I have very small ones that my husband made for me to turn the fingers. The turning needs to be done while the seam sealant is still wet or the fabric may be too stiff to turn.
