Two towering pine trees stood sentinel over my friend's cabin for generations. Sadly, they fell victim to the Pine Beetle and had to be cut down.
They left behind a pine cone, from which Matsuko emerged. Now, she stands as the guardian of the ancient beauty of the forest and coaxes the new seedlings to life.
